My sketch is really rough — will you be able to use it?
Almost certainly yes. We regularly work from very rough sketches — as long as we can make out the room layout and approximate proportions, we can redraw it professionally. If you're unsure, just send it and we'll tell you within 2 hours whether we can work with it. No obligation.
What if I don't have dimensions on my sketch?
That's fine — we can redraw to approximate proportions from your sketch, or you can give us rough room sizes verbally and we'll incorporate them. If you need dimensioned drawings for planning or regulatory purposes, we'd recommend a full survey — but for estate agent listings and basic floor plans, estimates work perfectly well.
How do I send you the sketch?
The easiest way is to email a photo or file to info@ommateum.co.uk — or fill in the form above and describe what you have. We'll get back to you with the price and then you can send the file. If it's a large file, we'll give you an upload link.
Can the finished plan be used for planning applications?
Yes — we can produce plans to the standard required by most local planning authorities. If your application has specific requirements (scale, content, title block format), just let us know and we'll produce accordingly. For complex applications, a full measured survey may be more appropriate — we'll advise honestly.
Can I use a Convert-A-Sketch plan as the base for an evacuation plan?
Yes, and it's a great use case. Many buildings don't have digital floor plans — Convert-A-Sketch is the fastest and most affordable way to get one, which then becomes the base layer for evacuation plans, fire zone plans and asset registers. We offer a discount when you bundle Convert-A-Sketch with compliance documents.
What's the difference between Convert-A-Sketch and a full survey?
A full survey means we physically attend your building and measure every room to the millimetre. Convert-A-Sketch works from whatever you send us — no site visit, lower cost, faster turnaround, but accuracy depends on what you provide. For estate agent listings, planning sketches and internal records, Convert-A-Sketch is usually sufficient. For compliance documents and technical drawings, a full survey is the right call.
